Ninja

Tumble Tots

Co-ed, walking – 3 years

Get your little movers groovin’ with this fun and exciting parent and tot class. With the help of Mom or Dad this class will focus on gross motor skills, flexibility, class structure, following directions, and many of the fundamental skills of gymnastics. Watch as your little one goes from walking and running to jumping and rolling! This class is a must no matter which sport or activity your child ultimately decides to do.

Cost: $116/mo or $110 on auto-draft
Annual Registration Fee: $40/yr

Pre-School

Co-ed, 3 – 5 years, potty-trained

It’s time for your little tumbler to spread his or her wings and flip. At this age, children are ready to participate by themselves. Cypress Academy uses the sport of gymnastics as a tool to challenge children to expand their developing capabilities. Each preschooler will strive to advance through 4 different levels: Yellow Fish, Green Turtles, Red Lobsters, and Blue Sharks.

We have 9,000 square feet completely dedicated to preschool with all the Olympic events sized down for an easier learning experience. The directors of the preschool program coordinate the week-to-week activities, the events, and the skills each class will work. This curriculum creates a fun and progressive experience for each and every child.

Girls- Grades: K – 1st

Here your gymnast will be introduced to the basic skills in gymnastics on all four women’s Olympic events (Vault, Bars, Beam, and Floor). We also introduce conditioning appropriate for the gymnasts age, which helps them to develop the strength necessary to perform the skills required at this level.

Our girls Kinder through 1st Grade is called our STARZ program and is divided into four different levels; RED, BLUE, PURPLE, & GOLD.

Girls Rec

Girls- Grades: 2nd & up

Your gymnast will work through the basic skills in gymnastics on all four women’s olympic events (Vault, Bars, Beam & Floor), as well as conditioning and trampoline.

The Girls Rec Program is divided into the following levels; STARBURSTS, FIRECRACKERS, ROCKETS, & DYNAMITES. These levels are meant to create a class that is both challenging and progressive for every student. After Dynamites our girls will head into the Nova Program.

Boys Rec

Boys- Grades: K & up

In our Boys Rec Program, your gymnast will be introduced to the basic skills in gymnastics on all six men’s Olympic events (Floor, Pommel Horse, Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars, and High Bar). We also introduce conditioning which helps them to develop the strength necessary to perform the skills required at this level.

Our Boys Program is divided by age and skill level. Our boys’ Kinder and 1st Grade program is divided into three different levels; COPPER, CHROME, & STEEL. The boys who are 2nd Grade and up are divided into the following levels; IRON, PLATINUM, & TITANIUM.

Tumbling

Co-ed, K & up

This class is designed for boys and girls who want to concentrate their efforts on the tumbling aspect of gymnastics. This class is great for those aspiring to be a cheerleader or for those just not as interested in the other gymnastics events.

Our tumbling program begins with Intro to Tumbling which emphasizes the fundamentals of tumbling: cartwheels and round-offs, with an introduction to back handsprings. These tumblers will work their way up through Intermediate, Accelerated, Advanced, and finally Elite where they work the more advanced combinations of tumbling passes. They will turn a back tuck into a lay-out, and they will begin to twist their layouts into fulls and double fulls. Front tumbling will also become more of a focus.

Ninja

Co-ed, 3 years & up

Cypress Academy Ninja provides a first class Ninja training facility, featuring incredible Ninja structures, warped walls and more! Ninjas will focus on upper body and grip strength, coordination and body control, and overall confidence while conquering a variety of obstacles.

Ninjas will start off with a basic level of fundamental skills from walking across a balancing bridge or first swinging on a lache bar to smashing the buzzer of the tallest warped wall or topping the last rung of the salmon ladder. After Ninjas get some practice on our basic courses, they will progress to our timed and more challenging courses. Classes are for ages 3 & up for boys and girls (co-ed), and will be grouped by age and skill level.

We currently have 2 Ninja facilities – one at our Huffmeister Location and one at our Dowdell Location.

Competitive Teams

Boys & Girls

Cypress Academy proudly works with some of the most talented athletes in the country and in the world. Both our boys and girls teams have seen athletes move on to full college scholarships as well as the Olympics. We believe our competitive success comes from a great foundation early on in the sport of gymnastics. That is why we focus just as much attention to our recreational programs as we do to our competitive programs. After all, that is where our future stars are born.

Our professional competitive coaches have high expectations for each individual athlete. Whether a gymnast is competing in his or her first ever competition or preparing for Nationals, our coaches customize workouts to fit their needs.
